1. Make Sure the GPS is turned on and plugged into the USB Port.
Go to your Control Panel and then programs and features. Look to make sure that the PL-2303 Vista Driver Installer is the only PL-2303 file there.
If there are two PL 2303 files, or you don't show any listed at all, or the wrong one is listed, unplug the GPS USB cable from the computer, uninstall the driver(s) and restart the computer. (See "g" below)
Then Click Here for GPS 7/8 Download Page and make sure the "operating System" is selected as Windows Vista/Windows 10. Then Download and install the driver.
2. After the driver is installed:
Plug the USB cable back into the computer, and make sure GPS is turned on.
a. Windows 8/Windows 10: From the main screen of your computer, press and hold the Windows Key on your keyboard (it looks like a circle with four curved boxes in it) and press X. (Might be listed under "Other Devices - USB to Serial, right click, choose properties, and then update driver and follow the above) **If you see a message that the driver is phased out, YOU STILL MUST RIGHT CLICK AND SELECT UPDATE DRIVER

e. You will see either one or two items called Prolific. If one, click to highlight it and press next. If more than one, click the one that ends in 3.2.0.0
